Dr. Rebecca (Becky) Wylie received her PhD from the University of South Florida’s College of Education. During her time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at USF, she taught numerous classes including Motor Behavior, Applied Exercise Science and Sport Skills. She also worked as a university supervisor for teacher candidates in the Physical Education Teacher Education program at USF. As a military family, the Wylie’s are excited to call Colorado Springs their forever home, as her husband recently retired after 26 years in the military.
Becky has taught middle school PE, high school World Government, and U.S History. She also has a background in health and fitness as she worked as a personal trainer and taught a variety of classes including Spinning and pre/postnatal fitness. She has taught or coached individuals from as young as four to as old as 80.
Becky and her family enjoy being outdoors, rooting for their favorite hockey team, the Av’s and watching any Colorado sport. She has a daughter who is currently a freshman at Boston University and a son who is a sophomore in high school. She has learned a lot about the sport of fencing recently, as her son has been in the sport for the past three years.
Advocating for quality physical and health education for all students is a priority for her and she is excited to continue to be able to do so with SHAPECO.
