Description:
This series of two webinars is designed for educators who are teaching or will be teaching or supporting Comprehensive Sexual Health Education in their school or district. In these interactive webinars we will explore best practices when teaching comprehensive sex education and skills-based health education. Session one will dive into trauma-informed education, healing centered engagement, along with relevant Colorado legislation.
Session two will further explore teaching strategies and a whole child approach while focusing on the overlapping connection to physical education and community engagement. These interactive and engaging sessions are brought to you by the Trailhead Institute and Thrive Consulting and in partnership with SHAPE Colorado.
We encourage you to attend both sessions, however it is not required.
Objectives:
Participants will explore trauma-informed and healing centered engagement practices to support students’ mental health and social emotional learning skills.
Participants will strengthen their trauma-informed tools and best practices and connect it to supportive Colorado legislation and laws.
Participants will practice various teaching strategies through real life scenarios to best support youth.
Participants will identify one tool or resource to implement in their classroom and/or school building

We encourage you to attend both sessions, however if you are unable to attend both sessions you may attend either session as a stand alone session.
