MISSION
The Society of Health and Physical Educators of Colorado’s mission is to inspire and support diverse professionals to enhance the physical, mental, social, and emotional wellbeing of school communities.
Who We Are
SHAPE Colorado is a non-profit organization composed of hundreds of educators and advocates. We are a part of a bigger organization, SHAPE America. We provide professional learning opportunities throughout the year and conduct an annual fall convention that draws individuals from around the state. The SHAPE Colorado board meets five times a year and is comprised of interested members. Our quarterly Journal is designed to inform, enhance and expand the work of our members.
We promote health education and physical education issues at the legislative level through our lobbying efforts, as well as providing advocacy resources to our members. SHAPE Colorado, in conjunction with the Colorado Department of Education, has played a vital role in revising the 2020 Content Standards for Health Education and Physical Education.
