Who We Are
SHAPE Colorado is a non-profit organization composed of hundreds of educators and advocates. We are a part of a bigger organization, SHAPE America. We provide professional learning opportunities throughout the year and conduct an annual fall convention that draws individuals from around the state. The SHAPE Colorado board meets five times a year and is comprised of interested members. Our quarterly Journal is designed to inform, enhance and expand the work of our members.
We promote health education and physical education issues at the legislative level through our lobbying efforts, as well as providing advocacy resources to our members. SHAPE Colorado, in conjunction with the Colorado Department of Education, has played a vital role in revising the 2020 Content Standards for Health Education and Physical Education.
We are committed to promoting practices and programs that educate and inspire people to achieve active, healthy lifestyles.
We are committed to the highest standard of professional excellence.
We develop quality leadership that facilitates growth and honors the uniqueness of each individual.
We value and embrace change that contributes to the development of quality practices and programs.
