CDE Guidelines for Physical Education and COVID-19

The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) has released guidance for physical education during COVID-19. The information has been added to the Planning for the 2020-21 School Year Toolkit on CDE’s website to provide schools and districts guidance around physical education during COVID-19. A webinar and training will be released at the beginning of January 2021 to walk through the guidance and review high impact teaching strategies aligned with the new guidance. Please be on the lookout for a registration link in the coming weeks!

The contexts of physical education vary by local school and district communities and by grade-level. District leaders should develop plans specific to their circumstances. Districts may choose to share their plans with their local public health agency or the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) for feedback.
